Azerbaijanian American Cultural Alliance and Houston Azerbaijanis organized a “Nard” tournament among Azerbaijanis living in Houston on 12.12.2009. 5-hour-long tournament ended up with Cavid Zeynalov’s victory.

Raindrop Turkish House and Azerbaijanian American Cultural Alliance has organized the annual Turkic Cultures and Children’s Festival on November 7th and 8th at Hermann Square, in front of Houston City Hall, to celebrate the rich heritage of such Turkic sister nations as Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and countries such as Albania, Afghanistan, Bosnia, and Ahiskan Turks. The Turkic Fest also invited Greece and Pakistan as guest countries of this year, which added lively color to the festival.

Congressman Pete Olson was our guest on the dinner event organized by AACA and TCAE on November 21, 2009. Among the guests there were several committee directors. Pete Olson emphasized that Azerbaijan is one of the leading countries in energy sector.

AACA organized Azerbaijani Music Night at November 5, 2009 where Gulzar Ferecova and Mehemmed Mammadov performed nice Azerbaijani songs for Azerbaijani and Turkish guests.

On September 16, 2009 Turquouse Council of Americans and Eurosians organized a dinner event at the Congressional Cannon House Building. Among 150 participants, 20 were congressmen. The congressmen belonging to Azerbaijan caucus were also invited on behalf of Azerbaijani American Cultural Alliance. On the same day, the board of AACA visited Mr.Rodney Alexander. Besides, Kazakh Foundation, AACA, and Turkmen Foundation visited Mrs. Shelley Berkley, a congresswoman from Kazakhstan caucus.
